Finally come out with my own website.
Actually, not alone. I did it with my best friend, the greatest front end developer I ever met. His name is Sean Ngu. Good guy who is still single. I still wonder why many good guys got friend zoned or cannot find a good girl friend.
Anyway, back to the main topic. The website is up. Still learning more about SEO so it appears in google. Not as simple as using the webmaster tools in google. Also need to do some meta tagging, each page header and maybe generate a dynamic meta description for each page too....
This website totally didn't get any sponsor or donation from anyone. Originally we do it to earn money but now I think we just want to get it up and see how it goes. If it earns money, then it earns. Else, we just make it as our portfolio for a better job in future.
However, this website can only be made possible by few people.
First is my best friend la, Sean Ngu. The front end developer who has the best front end skill in my opinion. His speed of doing things matched mine, so we can collaborate easily.
Second is Chris Wong, Ting Jing Ling and Ng Dick Tern from church. They sparked this idea because we always wonder where to go for our meal. So I end up thinking this might work, and planned the whole thing.
Well, we did try to find few more people to help out in this project last year but things didn't work as well as I hope for. I approached one of my friend from my previous church who is really good in Sales and Marketing. He also can do a bit of design. But I hope he can work on Marketing once the website is done. Then he bring in another friend who previously work in fine dining. We had our weekly meeting through Skype. So I distributed the task and we hope to finish everything and set to live the website in few weeks time.
However, we don't have enough data and the website couldn't go live. We are stucked doing development and data entry. Things got pretty bad and we end up disbanding the whole group.
However, the original owner of the domain and project is still me and Sean Ngu. After leaving it idle for about 8 months, I thought it's time to bring it back to live. So I clean up all the features we planned to have but cannot finish in time, leaving few main features that had been completed before, adding few more "must have features" in the website and then add in the info 1 by 1 and live it.
No marketing or sharing has been done on facebook or anywhere yet. So we have no high traffic to the website. Once it has more data, like maybe few hundreds, then maybe we will start to use facebook to advertise the website.
I am just feeling excited now. :)

Renewing Malaysia IC (mykad) experience
I went to renew my IC last week because the back of my old IC has torn up a bit.
From last year, I keep getting the news that we will be fined if we don't renew our IC in between 18 to 25 years old. I even heard something like 1 year after 25 will be RM50 and it will be incremental if you are older.
I am 3 years late to renew my IC (mykad).... so I even thought I might be fined for RM100 or RM150. That's the worst case scenario that I can think of. So I went to JPN at Jalan Sultan at lunch time..... it was very jam. Took me about an hour to reach there. When I got to the first floor, i take a number and it turned out that I need to wait for 80 numbers. I was like "what the hell???". I read from internet that it only takes them 15 minutes to do the whole thing.
I got no choice so I thought "since it is 80 numbers, I guess I can go out to take my lunch first". When I go to the ground floor and walk around to find a cafe, I saw a security guard. So I asked him and he pointed me to the correct direction. Some conversation happened.
Him: You datang buat IC?
Me: Ya. Tapi banyak orang.
Him: Ya. Sebab KL cuti. Semua orang datang sini.
Me: Cuti?
Then I realized it is 1st February. It's Federal Territory Day... I really go at the wrong day....
Anyway, long story short. I eat my lunch that cost me around RM7 including drinks at the cafe in JPN, go back to the first floor and waited for my turn. After 2 hours, my number is called and I went to the counter. She said I need to pay RM20. RM10 for processing and RM10 for late renewal. Thank GOD! Only RM20...
The process is quite simple.
1. I give her my old IC
2. Scan my right and left thumb.
3. See how she cut my IC. ( Unnecessary step :-) ) and then pay the money.
4. Take back my number and wait to take picture at counter 15/16.
5. This step should vary at different day. I was asked to come back the next day at 8am to collect my IC because there are too many people on that day. I believe you can collect your IC on the day itself if you go at non peak season. I mean when there are not a lot people there.
I hope this helps. Hehe.

Should I be happy or unhappy?
Ok.
I am not sure if I should be happy or not.
I am now working as Senior Web Developer in a Pacific Founders Sdn Bhd. I got the pay that I want when I got in this company. I think that it is a true blessing at that time.
So here's the thing. My probation period is 3 months. It should end at 19th January 2016 but the whole confirmation letter thing got dragged until today, 5th February 2016. Upon confirmation, I really hope there are some increment.... as you know, the cost to live in Malaysia is rising like hell because of the currency issue. Well, I had just been informed that there should be no increment because the employment letter didn't state that my salary will be reviewed upon confirmation.
Sometimes, I had no idea how this works. The salary review must follow what is written in employment letter? Meaning if the employment letter didn't write that my salary will be reviewed after I work for 1 year, I will get no increment no matter how long I work here?
Actually, IT people got really a lot of job opportunity. I rejected quite a lot in the past 3 months....erh, maybe about 12 job opportunity which I never even try to find out because I know it's not good to keep on changing job when I haven't even work for 1 year in this company. I contributed a lot to the company. The website is up from nothingness. From nothing! 1 year is all I will wait. I will see how the company will repay me in this 1 year.
