Playing pocket maplestory experience

Recently, Nexon had released a mobile Maplestory. The name is called Pocket Maplestory. I dont plan to download it because I believe I will get addicted once I start playing it. However, curious about how my new iphone 6s perform with a large game, I decided to download it.

The other reason I downloaded it is because it keeps on appearing on my app store and facebook ads.

Ok. First thing I noticed in this game is there seems like no basic 4 jobs from maplestory before. The 5 jobs that they provide in pocket maplestory is all the legendary hero. I believe it is to provide them a storyline for each of the job. So I choose the most basic one. The name is Kaiser. Seems like a warrior or swordsman. So at level 1 to 8, the character is naked, holding a sword and try to solve some quest so that he can get to the job advancement. The lowest level of equipment is only at level 8. I wonder why Nexon team do this. Naked at level 1 seems a bit funny to me. But no one will stick to that level anyway. Maybe it is to drive player to get to level 8 because curiosity will surely make them continue the game. Some player wanted to see how good the equipment looks on the character. As for me, I am just curious on how the game play gonna be. Is the skill as complicated as pc version and so on.

I will say that the game play is quite nice despite the limited space on the screen. There is not so much key like what we have on keyboard but Nexon team still able to make the game play as much as like the pc version. Really great.

Since I am only playing it for 2 days, I think I am in no position to comment about the story line. Let's see if I still have the mood to continue playing it after this.

True feeling of using iPhone 6s

I bought new Iphone 6s 64GB from Digi earlier this week. It will cost me RM140.62 / month for 2 years. Since there is an upfront payment of RM456 for 2 years, my monthly subscription for RM68 package data will be deducted by RM19 every month. So the Digi bill will be RM49.
The RM68 data package have 6GB of data, which i think is more than enough.

At the first day of switching from samsung note 3 to iphone 6s, I feel it is really hard to type. The keyboard feeling is totally different. The send button in whatsapp is so small and very hard to press. The screen size of note 3 is much bigger than iphone 6s, so it takes me some time to get used to Iphone... like maybe 3-4 days. Now I think I am quite used to it already.

When I met with a friend who had been using Iphone for quite some time, he taught me to turn off some of the unnecessary apps to reduce the data plan usage. Since the phone is thinner, the feeling when holding it is also different.

However, the camera is very awesome. I always have problem where my hand will shake when I take selfie or groupfie. But with Iphone, even if my hand is shaking, the picture is still very clear.

Another thing is the battery. My note 3 battery started to not able to last very long. Few round of games can cause the battery to drop for about 15%. Iphone 6s battery can definitely last longer than my note 3. Part of the reason might be the note 3 battery is old already.

The voice chat is another thing that I like on Iphone. The sound is very clear. Even when I use the voice recording apps, the output is still good. Wechat voice chat, whatsapp and phone call, all works better than I expected.

Other than that, the I quite like the notification too. The notification sound choices are soft and pleasing. It's not too sharp and ear hurting.

That's what I observe until now. Will put up more info after few more weeks or months.

Probation period ended

Not just any probation period. Not about work. It's about relationship.

Few months back, there is a girl I really like, and we started to text each other more and more until we realize it might work out. So we made it clear to ourselves that we should use about 3-6 months to get to know each other. I consider this as probation period.

So the 3 months probation period ended and I didn't get confirmed. It's sad but life goes on.

I'll just continue to focus on my work.

Ranting about work.... havent do this for quite some time.

I had been sacrificing a lot for the job that I like. Basically if the company hired me, I will put in all my effort to do all I need to get the company to run normally. However, working for startup is really tiring because the people who can take over your job is really less.

Here is the thing, the only people who can do backend programming in my current company is my CTO Hikmat and me. So my CTO had left to London for some meeting or conference. I am the only backend programmer left currently.

Earlier this year, I booked a ticket to Vietnam for a solo vacation on 21st April 2016 to 25th April 2016. Who knows that it will clash with my CTO London working trip. Looking at the current situation of the company, if I am away for 3-4 days and the CTO is not around too, it will be hard for the company to function normally. No one will be able to change the banner, selected sku to be displayed in front page, no one will be able to live new feature, fix bug, prepare the API.....

So I decided to not go for the vacation, stay here and work a bit more for the company. I hope the company will appreciate what I had done. Even though no one really knows about it.

My chinese New year since I am in college

I had been spending my chinese new year in different place since I came to KL.

So earlier when I was still studying in MPI in 2008, the place that I spend my chinese new year

2010 - in Sibu, still with dad and brothers
2011 - in Sibu, also with dad and brothers (straight go KL to work)

2013 - in Johor with Yun Kai
2014 - in Bintulu with brothers and Ah Lui
2015 - in Miri, to Bintulu, then to Sibu

How am I able to work as Programmer until now?

Working as programmer for more than 5 years, I still don't feel like quitting or stopping my work as programmer. Main reason is because I really like to work as Programmer. I feel that I am really lucky to be in this field. Seriously....

I do feel stress and tired sometimes. However, it does not stop me from programming. The few main reasons I am able to continue to work as programmer are

1. I have the passion in programming.
2. I like to solve problem even if people cannot see what's the problem.
3.  I like the satisfaction feeling when I solved or found the bug in a program.
4. I like to see something that I developed being widely used over the world.
5. They pay well.
6. It is a field that still have a big market now.

Of course, environment that I am in now is quite comfortable compared to agencies.... i believe. The environment that I am in now....

1. There are no punch card system that the developer must be in early in the morning. But I need to work at after office hour or weekend if urgent problem arise.
2.  I do a lot of sports. With my ex colleague, current colleague, friend from church and sometimes by myself.
3. I went to relax once in a while by going for movie(sometimes alone), sing, eat ice cream, body massage and so on.
4. I attend cell group and a lot of other activities in church.
5. My opinion is heard.

I feel I am well appreciated, that's why I can work in the same field until today.

Next level in my life.

I found out the last post about my situation is already more than 2 years back when my dad passed away.

So after my dad passed away, I got increment at the same day. More than half year later, I got a job offer in 123rf for a senior position and getting some good increment too. Working in 123rf make me learn a lot of thing especially working on payment gateway and recurring billing. Basically I can now understand how all payment gateway works. Even if it is a new payment gateway, reading their documentation can make me understand their flow easily.

After working for more than 1 year in 123rf, I got another offer with a bit of increment in Dekatku but due to some internal problem, I resigned after 6 weeks. I got another offer in Bemalas without any increment. So I am now in Bemalas working as Senior Web Developer.

All these experience had lead me to a better life and I would say maybe a little bit above average life than people in KL and PJ. I am also happy to be in a cell group and I am happy that I fall for a girl in the cell group too. I am even more excited when I successfully bought a condo in Puchong that will be completed in 2 years time. The next exciting thing is that I had my interview with IProperty group for a position Senior Software Developer. From the JD, it seems like I had all the skills required by them so I will wait and see. Working in a big company had always be my dream. Of course, a little bit of increment will be helpful.

After everything settled down more than 2 years back, my elder brother is now working peacefully, travel around in Sarawak and testing the signal of the tower. He know a lot about telecommunication technical part now that sometimes even myself need to get some advise from him. And since he own a house in Sibu, left by my dad to him, he had not much commitment and he will be able keep a lot of money and hopefully he will be able to start his business like what he dreamed of before.

My younger brother is now still working in Miri for Petronas. This year, their increment and bonus is not as great as previous year. But good thing he is still able to keep his job because there is some retrenchment and we are worried that he will be one of them.

In short, 3 of us are living peacefully and happily. We will gather again at the coming July for another makan trip. Everytime the 3 of us are together, I will feel really happy and grateful.

Unfortunate trip to Kampung Tiram.

Saturday afternoon, is the day we went to Kampung Tiram for Sunday school. Every once a month, we will go there.

We promised to gather at Mega Chinese Methodist Church at around 12pm and go to Kuala Selangor to have our lunch there. Unfortunately, Damian Low's car that is in service center is not fully serviced yet. Earlier, he called to the service center and the service center claimed that it was already done but it's actually not. He went there and find out that he need to wait until he realized he will be late if he continue to wait. So, Samuel Ang was asked to drive out and fetch Elayne Wong first before fetching Damian.

We thought to go in one car but we don't know Josephine will join too. So we go by 2 cars. Chung Rui Zhe, the organiser, fetch me and Samuel Ang fetch Damian, Elayne Wong and Josephine.

So we started our journey at around 2.30pm and reach at 4pm. The Sunday school actually start at 3pm. So we are late by 1 hour.

We cancelled our game and praise and worship session. We started straight with story and then art. Since Samuel, Damian and Josephine need to attend Campus Fellowship at 6pm, they need to start moving at 4.45pm. So they went back early and we continue to end the whole Sunday school.

On the way back, unfortunate event continue to happen when Rui Zhe drive through a small hole and cause the car tire to punctured. Both of us never change spare tire before. So we googled on how to change car tire.

We tried and tried, in the end, one person who stayed nearby came and helped. He also teach us how to change the spare tire. Thanks to him, we managed to change the tire in about half hour.

Went back home and feel super tired because of all the unfortunate events above.
